Description
This is a cast copper rod made at the former White Pine copper mine at White Pine, Michigan.A piece like this was sent to the lab to be tested for electrical conductivity.
It weighs close to 3-1/2 ounces and is about 3-7/8 inches long, shown next to a nickel for size comparison.
These were being poured up until 1982 when the mine began producing pure copper by the electrolytic process.
