    Description

    This is a cast copper rod made at the former White Pine copper mine at White Pine, Michigan.
    A piece like this was sent to the lab to be tested for electrical conductivity.
    It weighs close to 3-1/2 ounces and is about 3-7/8 inches long, shown next to a nickel for size comparison.
    These were being poured up until 1982 when the mine began producing pure copper by the electrolytic process.
