    Vintage
    Plumb Axe
    This is a vintage Plumb National Pattern axe also known as a Rafting or Cedar Pattern axe.
    The axe head has been heavily used and shows grinding marks on the bit and pounding marks on the poll end. It would take some work with a file but I think it would clean up alright. There is light surface rust with nicks and scratches but no real rust pitting. The handle is tight, it was a little crudely carved when fitted and has a couple chips the the back but it shows nice age and has a nice smoothly worn look and feel. The head measures 6 inches long and the axe with handle has an overall length of 25 Inches.
