    Description

    Up for sale a wonderful example of Thailand early money called Tok please see some of the history below . When I have traveled to Thailand and became very interested in there types of money . Every time I get a chance to go to South East Asia I explode the shops in the cities and markets in the outskirts to find some of the wonderful examples to collect and share with those interested in this type of coinage . I will be putting up some of my collection in the coming weeks . Along with many other types of coins and currency of the world and the U.S.

    City money by the end of the 19th Century in the cities of Chiang Mai and Nan in northern Thailand issued.
    Used primarily to purchase of land and money as a bride.
    Legal tender, was often given as a gift of the bridegroom to the parents of his bride.
    Silver bullion round with a flat bottom and a more or less domed top in various sizes.
    Sometimes they have a yellowish-red to golden brown coating on one side.
    Reddish: added chicken blood
    Yellow: mixed with egg yolk
