    Reserve-Flak-Abteilung 304
    was set up on August 26, 1939 in Jena from the
    Flak-Stamm-Batterie Jena
    with five batteries (1st-3rd heavy and 4th-5th light battery). The unit was used in
    Luftgau IV
    .
    In July 1942 the unit was renamed as the
    schwere Flak-Abteilung 304
    (304th heavy Anti-Air Artillery Detachment). In November 1942 the unit was transferred to Sicily, in March 1943 it was to Marsala, then to Trapani.
    In 1944 the unit was relocated to Florence.
    In 1945 the unit was deployed near Padua.
