Humorous Lidded, Glass Beer Stein. REDUCED

Up for auction is this humorous lidded beer stein. The story telling on the back appears to be Irish in nature, referring to a bar mate as a "Sod". It reads as follows:
"The wonderful love of a beautiful maid, and the love of a staunch true man,
and the love of a baby unafraid ,
has existed since life began;
But the greatest love, the love of love, even greater than that of a mother,
is the tender, passionate, infinite love of one drunken sod for another".
The stein front has an emblem with the initials VIP in the center. All of the wording, the emblem and the ring at the base appears to be silver overlay. The mug part measures 6.5" tall and the mouth 3" in diameter. The bottom is clear but mottled. The lid and handle are ornate. It is a substantial piece , weighing 2 pounds unpackaged.
PLEASE NOTE: there are 3 little white spots on the emblem which show up well in my pictures. Even so, the real important part is the saying on the back.
