    Description

This is an antique Chinese jewelry box in good shape. A Chinese woman told me that this is a dowry box for weddings and it is something that a mother would give to her daughter.
There are a few minor cracks on the top, but otherwise it is in very good condition given its age and is definitely usable.
    The key has a
Buddhist manji-symbol and brass (guessing) mounts. It is probably the 19th century item.
There is Chinese writing on the inside of the drawers, but on the sides there is just some slightly peeling. Paper inside is a calendar, a farmer's almanac.
    Symbols inside:
    Bat 🦇 symbolizes blessings
    Plum blossoms symbolizes prosperity
Dragon and Phoenix symbolize the union of man and woman, you see it in weddings often
The wood is most likely lacquered wood.
Dimensions: 11.5 inches by 9 inches by 7.8 inches.
    Weight: 8 lbs 2 oz
