Antique 1880-Era Newby and Evans Upright Piano in a Victorian StyleW = 5’ + 5.5’’ / D = 2’ + 2’’ / H = 4’ + 6’’
This antique Newby and Evans piano is a beautiful example of an upscale American Victorian upright piano of the late 19th century. It was built by Newby and Evans around the 1880s, and is made of beautiful carved solid mahogany wood. Newby and Evans built high quality, expensive pianos in New York from 1882-1942, going out of business at the onset of World War II. Note the beautiful carved Victorian details throughout.
This Newby and Evans piano has been totally restored and is in very-good to excellent condition. It plays and looks fabulous with a distinct sound quality that can only come from a vintage instrument of its stature--truly a late 19th century antique classic brought back to life.
There is only one issue with the playing functionality in that one key produces a muted tone when struck so this will need to be fixed for fully playability. Also, there are a few small hardly noticeable aesthetic imperfections on this piece. I do believe it would be next to impossible to find one of these vintage pianos from the 1880s without these types of imperfections.
These fully restored Newby and Evans pianos go for between ,000-,000 at piano or antique shops. "Antique Piano Shop Online" is selling one right now for ,500. My price represents an excellent value.
This price doesn’t include delivery transportation. The price for moving this piano will vary greatly depending on where you live and the degree of difficulty of the move to your home. For example if you live in a old condo on the 5th floor without an elevator it will cost a lot more to move than if you live in a house and want the piano on the ground floor.
Please contact me for a quote for the moving costs before you decide you want to buy. Then I can create a custom listing for you with shipping costs specific to you. I know of a very good local and nationwide piano moving company. The shipping costs will vary greatly from buyer to buyer so I can't list shipping costs in this listing.
