Aboriginal Art Carved Boab Nut Kangaroo Crocodile Snake Lizard Turtle Fish Bird
This nut is from the boab tree which is found in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. It was beautifully and skilfully carved with intricate designs by an indigenous artist of the region using sharpened knives and razor blades. The time spent engraving depends very much on the size of the nut and complexity and intricacy of the design.
This design depicts a man, a woman and various animals.
This vintage item is in excellent condition as it was used as a decorative item in a display case. It has minor scratches as pictured.
